We barely made it, but we did two issues within the past month. Some strong showings by Los Al baseball and boys volleyball teams unfortunately ended in some tough quarterfinal losses, but Los Al senior pole vaulter Alexa Ward is still competing (the last Griffin athlete still standing this year) -- she'll be at the State Championships at Cerritos College this weekend. For the latest and most complete details, go to www.golosal.com.
It seems very quiet on the community front -- except Seal Beach has rescinded its three-story ban, and oh yeah, LAFCO has decided to leave the decision of Rossmoor cityhood/incorporating to the Rossmoor residents themselves, much to the dismay of many opponents who are apparently aghast at letting the issue come to a vote of the people. But instead of boring you with my unasked for opinions here -- those interested can be bored with my babblings here.
FREE PLUGS DEPARTMENT:Project LEAP at Lee School will get all proceeds for runners who sign up for the Runners Workshop that former Los Al Cross County coach Mark Celestin will hold at three locations this summer. Check out the PDF flyer for more details.
Los Al basketball coach Russ May will again be holding three weeks of summer basketball camps -- here's the link to the application.
The Los Al Performing Arts groups is still raising money for programs and beautification via an engraved bricks campaign. Details and order forms are available here.
Now on to the good stuff.
