A couple of former Griffin athletic standouts, both from the Class of 2004, have announced their plans to get married. Former Griffin Running back Josh Jones, now playing football for South Dakota School of Mines & Technology (see alumni football article above), and former all-CIF softball player Natalie Mickelson, now a standout at Azusa Pacific, are now officially engaged to be married in the Summer of 2009 – when both have finished their college careers.

After drifting apart during their first years of college, the couple reunited in December 2006 when they met for lunch and (according to Natalie’s beaming mom, Denise) the couple “went from long lost friends to a match made in heaven.” Josh popped the question at Disneyland on July 20.
